Background

Beryl serves as a consultant on working with Chinese businesses, government, and people with Interkannections. She has her own consulting firm, Tung Consulting, which provides assistance on market-entry and other issues for companies and organizations in relation to the Chinese market. Her clients include Xinhua Finance, Dow Jones and the State of North Carolina.

Prior to coming to Japan, Beryl worked for the Asian Wall Street Journal, Central News Service, and a publishing company in Taiwan. She joined Reuters as a founding member of the Chinese Language News Service in July 1992, and worked her way up to Editor (top position) of the service in August 1998 (serving through 2001). In this position, she led 60 people in the mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Beryl holds a B.A. in English Literature from Fu-Jen Catholic University in Taipei, Taiwan.
