What is a "Cultural Framework"? Print Email

  • A “Cultural Framework” is a consciously designed cultural structure, that strategically supports the implementation and accomplishment of the organization’s mission and goals.
  • The leaders and employees of most organizations live in their cultures as fish live in water and humans live in air—that is without awareness of the culture, the assumptions that are generated by it, or the habits it perpetuates. Although culture is essential to an organization, an unconscious cultural structure often causes problems and limits mission and goal accomplishment. On the other hand, by consciously designing a Cultural Framework, the leaders of the organization can harness the power of culture to support mission and goal accomplishment.
